You need to be able to say before joining the biz op, 'I can afford to pay/invest in this for one year'. If you can't say that, do not join. Taking this a step further, you also need to ask yourself if the price is affordable to others. Most online business opportunities operate within an affiliate or mlm fashion. This means you'll need to be able to reach the masses of people that can afford the business and afford the products and/or services offered. If the price is too high, no matter how great the product or service is, you'll have a tough sell. Statistics relay the best price point for an online business opportunity in regards to the masses of people that will take you up on your offer is, $25 per month or less.
Product/Service Factor - If someone creates a shoe for elephants with a price of $1 per shoe, how many people will buy it? It's certainly affordable. But how many people need elephant shoes? What if someone creates an ebook about elephants with a price of $5,000. How many people are going to buy the elephant ebook? Although these are silly examples, when you begin searching the internet for a way to make money online, you'll locate things just as silly and even sillier. The point being, there must be a need and/or a want for the product or service and it must also have a reasonable price point. A tv talk host, Ellen Degenerees, stated on her talk show, she allowed underwear to go on a 24 hour special sale of $10. She also stated they averaged sales previously of 15 pairs of underwear per day. When she placed the underwear on 24 hour special sale price of $10, over 6,000 pair were sold. People do buy underwear. People do buy products that have their favorite celebrity stamped on them. By placing the underwear on sale at a more affordable price, sales absolutely went through the roof...from only selling 15 pair per day, to over 6,000 sold within 24 hours. There are online business opportunities that sell virtually nothing. If there is no real product or no real service, then most likely you won't make money. Whether the business opportunity is high end, low end, or median range, the product and/or service must be real. And when the product/service is made affordable for the masses, more people are going to buy. When reviewing online business opportunities, keep in mind, the product and/or services being offered.
Longevity Factor - Joining a newly launched business opportunity can be exciting and even fun. But can it really be lucrative? As with any start up, the higher risk factor is present. It's just common sense. Adding common sense to statistics gives us a good insight. Statistics tell us, 99% of online business opportunities won't last one year. How safe you want to play it is going to be up to you. Do remember the factors on this page as they are just as important with newly launched online businesses, if not more so. When you choose to go with an online business opportunity that is three, four, or more years online, you've probably made a much wiser choice and kept your risk factor at a minimum.
Commission Plan Factor - If the commission plan is so complicated you cannot understand it, probably most other people won't understand it either. You need to know how you are getting paid, why you are getting paid, how much you can really earn, when will you be paid and, what you need to do in order to make money. Simple, easy to understand commission plans, are usually going to be the best way to go.
Support Factor - All factors are important but this factor may be the most important of all. If you don't have support from the opportunity then you may not have anything but a hole in your pocket. Support comes in different ways. One way is direct support from the opportunity administration. Another way is indirect support by way of services they provide such as advertising tools and promotional materials. Another form of support is sponsor and team support. All of these support aspects are necessary to help you succeed within the online business opportunity.

There are numerous ways to make net money. Starting out with a business opportunity is a good idea. It's a good idea because it can give you the knowledge to understand how online business works.
